Frequently Asked Questions

Is this image converter safe? Does it store my photos?

It is entirely safe. Unlike traditional converters that upload your files to external cloud servers (where they could be scanned, indexed, or stored), ThoughtFold Image Converter processes every single byte locally within your browser tab. Your files never touch our servers, meaning it works 100% offline too.

How do I convert iPhone HEIC photos to JPG?

Simple. Drag your Apple HEIC files directly into the upload area. The tool will automatically detect the HEIC extension and dynamically load a secure, sandboxed client-side decoder (heic2any) to convert them to JPEG, PNG, or WebP instantly. You don't need any special software or Apple-specific apps.

Why is this image converter completely free and ad-free?

We are a solo product studio that builds "Calm Tech" — utilities that respect your focus. We hate spammy, ad-choked image converters that trick you into giving your email address. We built this as a high-quality free service to introduce you to our philosophy and our flagship product, the ThoughtFold Tab Manager.

What is the difference between Simple and Advanced Mode?

Simple Mode (Default) applies a file size limit of 35MB per image. This ensures your browser can complete the rendering and download loop instantly without lag. Advanced Mode removes all file caps for professional, ultra-high-resolution files, but we advise caution as converting massive images client-side depends heavily on your system's hardware RAM.
