Where is my data stored?
Entirely on your machine, using Chrome's native chrome.storage.local API.
ThoughtFold has no servers and cannot access your data.
I lost my Vault after reinstalling. Can I recover it?
Unfortunately, no. Chrome deletes all extension local storage when an extension is uninstalled. This is a Chrome platform limitation, not a ThoughtFold decision. The Markdown export feature (available in the Supporter Tier) can be used as a backup before uninstalling.
How do I open the ThoughtFold panel?
Click the ThoughtFold icon in your toolbar, or use the keyboard shortcut
Option + Shift + H (Mac) / Alt + Shift + H (Windows).
You can customize this shortcut at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.
What does the Supporter Tier include?
The Supporter upgrade ($30, one-time) unlocks three features: unlimited custom intents (free tier is capped at 3), one-click Markdown export of your entire Vault, and drag & drop custom sorting for intents and vault items. All core features remain free forever.
How do I install my license key?
After purchasing, you'll receive a license key via email from Gumroad. Open ThoughtFold, click the gear icon to open Settings, scroll to the "Supporter License" section, paste your key, and click Verify.
Can I use ThoughtFold on multiple devices?
Yes — you can install ThoughtFold on as many devices as you like. However, because it's fully local-first, your Vault is not synced between devices. Each device maintains its own separate Vault.
